About us
The centre consists of two main halls, our Ernest Cook Hall which opens on to a small garden shared with the church next door. Our second hall is Coldharbour which is larger and is fully enclosed, The centre employs staff and a member of staff will be in attendance for the duration of any event at the centre.
There are several hirers who use the halls on a regular basis providing a variety of activities, for young and old, throughout the day and evenings. Click here for more information on our current classes.
At Weekends and subject to availability in the school holidays the hall is available for private and is ideal for functions such as, weddings, christenings and birthday parties etc. It is also fully licenced for alcohol and music.
Council enquiries are dealt with at the centre, and it acts as the main offices for the Parish council. The parish councils monthly meetings are also held there on the first Thursday of each month and the Parish Councils Maintenance team also operate from the centre.
Several Council led community events, are held throughout the year and the centre is central to most of these.
Our Ernest Cook Hall, the smaller of the two is a square design, measuring 9 metres by 9 metres. The hall has Glass and Wood doors leading to a small Garden which is shared with the church next door. This hall has a capacity of 60 for Parties and 70 for presentations. This hall is very popular for Christening receptions, Children’s Birthday Parties with Entertainers, Soft play or smaller bouncy castles.
The larger Hall, Coldharbour, is rectangular shaped, measuring 8.5 metres by 16.5 Metres. This hall has a very high ceiling and is very popular for Children’s Birthday parties with Bouncy castles being comfortably accommodated. The hall has dimmer lighting making it a good venue for discos and presentations. For parties and discos, the hall can take 80 people and for a seated presentation up to 100. This hall is also available for Badminton.The halls also come with tables and chairs provided, including a small number of half height tables and smaller chairs for children’s parties. There is also access to a small kitchen which is sited between the two halls with serving hatches to each.
On the first floor we have two small meeting rooms, on most days they are used by a tutoring company however these are available for hire in the evenings and in school holidays. One is designed for 1:1 Counselling services whilst the other is designed for meetings or presentations for 6-8 people.
